[s-cars] Passat 4motion W8 wagon: Opinions?

I would think if I really wanted one I could buy a used one in CT and register it in NY or at my parents address in CT. But then I would have to sell the S6 and deal with my wife the first time something broke.

I read last night where bmw said they would be bringing diesels to the states in '06 too.

Dave, aren't there ways around the state? I briefly read Mass laws and it seems that once a vehicle has 7500 miles on it you can still register a "newer" diesel vehicle, maybe NY is the same. I bet you can still buy a new diesel semi, farm, or "work" truck. Seeing how the only car makers that make diesel vehicles in the US are VW and MBZ, wouldn't their output be insignificant?
