Funny, my brother, who's a big BMW guy, was telling me the other day that somebody he knew had asked a BMWUSA exec that this person had met about them bringing in diesels, and the exec stated that because of the impending CA changes they weren't going to bother with it.  This may just be a case of 3rd or 4th hand story creep, or the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing at BMW.
