I don't know what Audi does for the ESP passive button on the quattro,
but if you're getting stuck at low speeds, try turning off the ESP. Some
systems will shut off esp, and part of the engine torque reduction, but
keep the brake portion of the system on to equalize the wheelspeeds
across an axle. This is supposed to act like a locking diff. That might
allow you to spin the wheels up like a locking diff. If you're getting
stuck in deep snow like that, you need to get some wheelspin going.
Every car company has a different strategy for the passive button, it's
confusing.
