Sorry Chris, but if its any help in the argument, I'm still a hold out for
well done head as a major variable as well..... So, on a related note, for
those who may be wondering

Stock 32 mm Intake Valve per Machinist's scales 50.0 grams
	32.5mm nitrided (?) Stainless "flared" 47.0 grams
 ***********
Stock Spring retainer 19.- grams
Titanium retainer 10.- grams
 *******
Stock 28mm sodium filled exhaust valve 47.5 grams
Ferrea "special alloy" 29mm ?P#1493P (+2000 F°) 51.0 grams

FWIW, an earlier weighing at another shop, reported different weight for the
stock valves, 46 grams (?) for both 32mm intake & 28mm exhaust. That may be
a transcription reporting or entry errors. Maybe some one else can check
the stock valve and retainer weights?

As for effects, FWIW & YMMV etc., going from (1) a base, stock head with a
fresh multiangle (in this case a 5, I think, but the valve seat job was/is
the same in each case); to (2) porting using a flow bench etc. alone done by
some one with some experience in working on the 20v head; to (3) port plus
"+" sized valves, one can claim the following percentage improvements as
measured by the flow bench:

EXHAUST flow increase/decrease as % based on Ported flow/stock and Ported
plus "+1" valve flow/base

Ported Only Port & + Valve Port +Valve
Lift vs. Stock vs. stock v Ported Only

0.400 109.5% 119.1% 108.8%

total 111.0%	116.7% 105.2%

What this would mean on the street, in a car, if anything, I'll leave the
list performance mavens to explain.

HTH some one
