[s-cars] Engine Test after Loss of Oil

Douglas,

I'm sorry to tell you this, but if you put the engine under load for
more then a few seconds with no oil pressure and/or very little oil,
the noise you are experiencing is most likely a spun rod bearing. It
sounds like a horribly loud ticking lifter. It would most likely be
the number 5 rod, since it is farthest from the oil pump. I sincerely
hope this is not the car, but fear it very well will be. Do what
Gabriel suggested, and look for metal shavings in the oil pan, if
there are non, the damage you did was minimal, yet may still rear it's
ugly head later down the road. I wish you the best of luck, although I
feel it's in vain. Start looking for an affordable AAN to swap in, or
a reputable shop to rebuild the engine (Anderson Motorsport should be
near you, AAN experts), in case it is toast.
