[s-cars] Re: '92 S4 value?

I recently sold my '92 for $7300 to my father who was
then giving it to my brother to use in his final year
of college. The car had 128k, Silver over Grey with
the interior in excellent condition, but the exterior
in only fair shape. I bought the car off the original
owner out of NJ with 98k on the clock. Given that it
was a NJ car and hadn't been garage kept it had some
serious acid rain on the roof and the paint was/is
extremely thin from too much buffing. I put a new
clutch and pressure plate in and had a new used
transmission (from a low mileage '94) put in as the
original was making the dreaded bearing noise. Pads
and rotors and tires were all done at around 118k.
Overall the car is in good mechanical shape, but only
fair cosmetically, although there is no rust.
I figured I did OK, but had I been selling to the
public and not family probably would have asked for
about a grand more or so.
