[s-cars] Wheel/tire performance - how different between wheel sizes?

If you're thinking of bigger wheels, I wouldn't refinish the 16s
and I'd keep them for the winter. Then I'd get 17s or 18s with
performance tires for the summer.  My 20 years in NH says that
the roads aren't California smooth, and I'd rather have the bit
of extra sidewall with 17s.  But then, these would be summer
performance wheels, so why no go with 18s?
