Vapor pressure of gasoline is different than Jet A at a given 
temperature.  Normally, at most temperatures we endure, gasoline vapor 
pressure causes a concentration above the ignition range.  When it is 
cold enough, kerosense (and Jet A) vapor pressures are low enough to 
allow combustion.

And my theory for TWA 800 was that it was taken out by an Iranian diesel 
sub (bought from the Germans) in revenge for one of their aorcraft the 
US took down.  So put that in your conspriracy theory pipe and smoke it.  :)
