Chris, adjusting the wastegate screw can solve some problems with wastegate 
creep.
The ECU should still be able to control the wastegate and therefore boost 
how ever you want to set it.

What can happen is overshoot, as it will take a bit more time to developed 
the required pressure in the wastegate chamber.
