Nope, that should work.  Does anyone sell 3mm spacers though?

I'd go for the spacer now... keep the "cracked" wheel in the garage in
case you trash another wheel sometime and can't find a further
replacement - the "cracked" wheel might be  cheaper to repair than the
other broken wheel at that time....
