Not sure why you trying to scare Dave :)
Press needed to replace shaft seal only. Everything else comes apart by
unbolting.

Good point about dealer. I don't know why I thought that kit dealer only
item...

Dave,

Your pump is probably leaking at the mating halves gasket, so you  
will need
that gasket for sure and a means to press the two halves back  
together, ie, a
judiciously used hydraulic press or large clamp.   The bolts are not  
strong
enough to pull the two halves back together.    Ivan's point is why  
not replace
  all the o-rings you probably have to buy in the kit while it's open.

Try these folks:    <www.autohausaz.com>       and search by part  
number for
026 198 049  That  is a 200/20v part # but the pump is the same  
except for
the pulley.  If you find the Audifans instructions you should be in  
good shape.

And Ivan, stop buying those expensive dealer parts. ;-)

Audifans FAQ lists 035 198 049 for the kit.  Autohaus has that one  
too, cheaper.

YMMV, but think of the fun you're having.
