I'm using 255/40-17 Yokohama ES100 tires on 17x8 ET35 OZ SL wheels. Also
H&R Sport 29921 springs, Bilstein sport shocks, ECS camber plates. At full
lock the outside edge of the tire appears to rub on the inside rear of the
plastic front fender liner. However, I don't hear any rubbing in parking
maneuvers, forward or reverse, so I don't think it's an issue. There is
about 1/4" of clearance between the inside of the front tire and the tierod
ends (could get very tight with much more than 35mm offset). No apparent
rubbing front or rear with the fenders.

The outside edges of the tires are almost even with the outside edges of the
flares, especially in the rear. The PO had put those black vinyl fender
edge strips on my car (which I wouldn't have done, but they look OK on a
dark colored car), so without those the rear tires would probably stick out
just a bit. There is a lot more road spray on the car, now (will probably
get some factory mudflaps). The 255's also look a little wide on the 8"
rims. Ideally, I would go with a 245 tire on those rims, or use an 8.5" rim
with the same offset (or both).
