If you check out the photogallery of 2004's NE S-Fest, you can see a
comparison
photo of my HIR equipped S6 vs. Emre's HID equipped S4. Yes, Emre's car won,

but not by as much margin as I expected. I guess it doesn't hurt that the
9012's
have 1850 lumens (low) and the 9011's have 2100. Still, not quite the 3500
to 3800
of HID's, but in comparison as far as I recall 9005's (highs) have about
1100 lumens,
and 9006's have less than 1000. Since the 901X bulbs have their filaments in
the
identical location and orientation as the 9005/6 bulbs, no optical issues.
Pretty easy
conversion (I used a HD dike instead of a Dremel when I did the conversion
for the
Saabaru. It takes 1/10th the time, and no mess), runs about $100.
