If it isn't too bad you might see if you can have it hard chromed.

I had a rod go out and it took the shine off the rod journal. Need to
rebuild an AAN (5cyl, 20v, turbo) crankshaft.  Audi doesn't have
anything
but the stock bearing sizes.

Any advice on who can do this work would be appreciated.
