[s-cars] driveshaft gaskets and grease

Has anyone recently had the pleasure of removing and installing the driveshaft or front axles?     The Bentley manual says to replace the gaskets (I think between the flanges somewhere) but it's not clear to me where they go.     When the driveshaft is separated from the rear diff, the surfaces are covered with grease.  The front axles look the same.     Here are a couple pics.

Should they all be cleaned and re-greased?    Will I find the gaskets under there?     I need help (and not just with car parts).    ;-)
