I have one of the tools and would be happy to lend it to you. It is easily  
made and I have made a couple of them. It is just a 22 MM deep socket from 
which  I have cut away the sides with an abrasive disk. I can make one less than 
ten  minutes. The hex socket in the end of the strut is 7 MM.  This not a 
common  size not included in the typical allen wrench set so you have to get that  
separately.
 
I also have the 2069a tool if you are removing the struts themselves. This  
tool REALLY makes the task easy.  It does not work with Bilsteins; only OE  
type struts.
