S-hedz,
Nice to have you all back. Kudos to our hosts and admins. I missed the
list.
OK, need help diagnosing recent behavior observed whilst traveling to turkey
day festivities.
Place - Minnesota.
Ambient temps - 5 to 28 degrees plus F.
Conditions - freeway driving, bout 70-75 mph, dry air
Distance - approx. 150 each way.
Driving up, I noticed the temp guage registering below normal (heavy hash
mark to left of center). Needle would move around a bit. Anywhere from
near the farthest left (coldest) mark to normal.
I engaged the HVAC channel 51 option and saw temps that hung around 80 to 81
C. They moved a little plus and minus.
As we entered Duluth, there is a long descent where both the guage and the
HVAC indicators dropped. The HVAC went as low as 74 deg. C as we went down
the hill.
While in Duluth for two days, the temp guage seemed to act normally, though
warm up was kind of slow.
Driving home on the freeway, the analog guage acted as on the trip up -
needle wandering between the cold setting and the normal setting. HVAC read
about 80-81.
On the few occasions I have driven around the Twin Cities after arriving
home, the analog guage has read dead normal.
So, what's up? The thermostat is about 3 years old. Any suggestions?
