[s-cars] HVAC conversion insight please

so ive had no windshield defog ventilation for months now and id rather not
go through the whole winter relying on anti fog serum to drive with a clear
windshield..

i know one of my flap motors is not working and will replace all of them
once apart (is it 3?) with new units.

but i figured while im at it i might as well continue with my legacy, and
make it more difficult on myself than it needs to be.. i would do this by
not only replacing the flap motors, but also converting to mechanical HVAC
controls like in the c4 100s and maybe was optional in europe on other c4s.

ive been putting off this project because i know what it entails and know
its no fun and want to do it all at once.

my concern/question is if anyone knows what else must be replaced as well,,
i imagine theres levers and such that arent in my car currently with the
digital cluster.

another issue will be trim.. not only finding it to fit, but also having the
proper wood grain.

i realize this is a downgrade in amenities and like it that way,, my
grandfather once said something like,, give me a lever or knob any day over
a button,, id agree, sometimes the crude version stands up much better to
the test of time.
