Aaron: If you are better at wiring than I am, then the mass of wires at the back of the cam cover will be thinner and you could reuse the aluminum "20V Turbo" cover after you strip out all the OE coils.  However, I do have some concerns about heat build up under the cover and am not running the cover.  The coil packs snap on to the plugs with pit bull tenacity and trimming the silicon rubber spacer provides for a moisture seal.  So, in my opinion, the cover is merely "bling" and extra weight that is not needed.

Hi Dave
EXCLELLENT write up.
My question is concerning the aluminum cover.  Is there no way the stock
cover could be modified to fit over the 1.8 coils?
I suppose I could C&C a custom cover for icing on the cake..
