<sigh>

We're one generation away from some really nice diesels here in
the states. I'm probably going to replace my '02 A6 with something
new in September, and I'd love to get a car that gets 42 mpg on
gas or diesel fuel.

To do this I'd have to end up in a Passat TDI or something
smaller, FWD. No quattro, no awd. Only 4wd diesel is the Jeep
Liberty...no thanks.

There are some interesting diesel awd cars on the market...just
not here.

So I'm leaning toward a Volvo V70R. My '02 A6 has been way too
finicky...

Not too many options - awd wagon, fun to drive, good sized, safe.
Subaru is the only other choice that comes to mind, and I'm not
going there.
