[s-cars] clues for windshield or dash removal please

The Bentley illustrates the VAG tool in use for windshield and other
fixed glass panel removal.
It consists of a cutting wire slipped through the sealant between
body and glass and some
pulleys to hold the wire away from the body and interior and simply
cutting the sealant to
release the glass. So, removing the dash may facilitate windshield
removal since you won't
have to protect it from damage while cutting the sealant.
Since the fixed glass panels are structural members, the proper
adhesive sealant must be used
to install new glass. There are also restrictions to moving the
vehicle with glass removed, since
the reduced torsional rigidity can allow the body to twist, and the
replacement glass will no longer
fit the opening and the doors won't fit.
Of course, if you are preparing for a demolition derby, or have
already been there, none of this
applies.
