[s-cars] WAS gas prices, now racist subaru's

I'm not as familiar with the latest models, and i never said that the suby
was unsafe. But the A4/A6 line as well as most VW's, over the course of the
last decade, have always ranked very high in safety standards. Subarus are
expensive to fix. Audi's are expensive to fix. But they are on two different
levels. Being that the average subaru is a good $15k - $20k cheaper than an
Audi, they shouldn't be nearly as expensive to repair, but they are. Also,
just like VW and audi cars, many good independant service stations refuse to
work on them, forcing some to go back to the dealer after the warranty
expires. Lastly, as far as build quailty goes, typically subarus are not on
par with many major car manuf. For instance, it's known that you should keep
your suby waxed well, as if you ever need to buff out the pint, you're
likely to hit primer very quickly. they skimp on the extra coat of paint
that's basically industry standard. Silly things, that's all. Otherwise the
cars are fairly reliable and yes, fun to drive as long as it has a turbo.

Fair enough Rolf, but the Impreza is IIHS double-best pick front/side impact
for a compact car- there are no other cars that beat the Impreza in crash
test performance in that size class the A4 VWs are not as good. I don't
think the A5 Golf/Audi A3 has been tested yet.
I also don't think the repair cost is high- coming from Audis, I think
they're cheap.
