I'll take the hose barb and clutch:

2) hose barb is unhosed and that is normal. I think it might be a relief
port, not sure.

3) clutch is never a problem if you shift smooth. It should feel like
slushed out automatic would shift. Every jerk burns material... you should
take pride in making it seamless.

Ahem.

2.) There's a hose barb on the top of the BPV (I think that's what it is.)
Mine has no hose. I am ASSuming it's a vacuum line connection, but I can't
find it's mate, nor a disconnected hose. The car runs great, so I'm not too
worried.

3.) I love the way this car drives. Solid and smooth, just like all my other

Audis have been. Except above 2.7k rpm, then I get the real "go." :) No
question, just an observation. Oh, yeah - 24mpg at 80mph, through the high
plateau and over the Rockies. 1200 miles.

4.) I was warned that these cars have a slightly higher appetite for
clutches than the normal Audis (my '90 80q has 200k on the clock with the
original clutch, so even at 2x wear, I'm happy.) I know what a slipping
clutch feels like (BTDT with Chevy product) but what about bad bearings -
throwout and input? How do those things feel when bad? How long can you let
them go before repairing?

:)

Eric
