Price have just recently gone up as most cars now have their MAF's replaced. 
Not all 2.0 MAF's were that cheap. The AVH code engine's MAF was closing 
back on $100 last i checked. AEG's were a bit cheaper. I also mentioned 
wholesale prices, sorry. But even then, dealers discount only about 15% -20% 
to other shops. What year 2.0 do you have? I think you are entitled to use 
his new truck if he's charging you that much ;-)  Now, about chipping the 
AR, without going into details, i was told by the dealership that if THEY 
chip the car for me, they would make sure it wouldn't be a warranty problem. 
That's all I'll say, but if i choose not to have them chip it, then the 
simple trick is to acquire another ECM and chip it, tossing your stocker 
back in when it goes for service.

No argument here, but the prices are a bit off- I recently paid $165 for a
MAF for the VW 2.0. Temp sensors are around $40 mail order. I wish the
prices were as low as you mention- either that, or my mechanic is trying to
help pay for his '06 F250 Powerstroke Crew. :-)
 If you chip the allroad, you're not getting warranty coverage on the
allroad.
