a couple links i had saved...
 http://www.epa.gov/otaq/imports/factmtop.htm
 http://www.relocatecanada.com/vehicleoffice.html
not a direct link but... www.state.pa.us <http://www.state.pa.us> and
search for the fact sheet on import&export vehicle procedure
i had a grand ole time importing my urQ,-and still incomplete-, waiting on
harrisburg to send me plates... in PA you cannot get temporary plates for an
import, you must wait until your forms are accepted.
where to start? man, youve got youre work cut out, but all taken one step
at a time is not overwhelming.
you should first find out mercedes' policy on issuing a 'certificate of
conformity' (thats what audi calls it).. you will need it BEFORE customs
will stamp the forms youll read about in the fact sheet... and in my case it
was a gamble, because i couldnt get the certificate until i had a canadian
registration in my name, but of course cant get it registered in my name
until i payed for it.... *roll the dice*, daddy needs an old urQ
theres tons more to know, check out those sites and feel free to contact me
if you have any more questions. i could also then elaborate on a couple
'less than legal' procedures with regards to the dash reading in KPH.
 kind regards, -brian
