The caps are available separately from the dealer.

Who would notice if you left the lower trim completely off ?  Could  
they see through all
the crud ?

If you want to fix the problem, call Dad's in Sacramento for some non- 
corroded California
parts.  They can send you lower door trim with good caps.  I don't  
think you can get the
caps as a new part.
