[s-cars] URGENT HELP NEEDED: half the electrics are dead

Classic ignition switch failure. The problem is that the switch is
returning back completely to the 'run' position after being moved to the
'start' position. As you may know, when you go to the 'start' position
the X-cutout relay cuts power to all high draw components like
headlights, AC, rear defroster, etc.
The temporary solution is to manually turn the switch back slightly
until it is in the run position and all your power should be back. Then
order a new electrical half of the switch and change it out. Make sure
you turn the switch back slightly until you get a chance to replace it
because besides not having power to lights, etc., you also can damage
your starter by keeping it energized.
