[s-cars] Which Big Brake Kit?

To the best of my knowledge, an RS2 bracket does not place a Porsche caliper
over any existing Audi rotor in the correct X & Y axis (e.g. centered over
the rotor and "out" the rotor so as to gain maxium mechnical advantage).
Hence, the reason we (BIRA) and others created brackets. While I cannot
speak for the others, each BIRA bracket is custom designed to correctly and
optimally match specific Audis/VWs, with a specific rotor and a specific
caliper. I would respectfully suggest that given the importance of one's
brake system, mixing and matching calipers with rotors that are "more in
line with the original 993tt rotor" so you can save a few bucks on a bracket
is penny wise and pound foolish. Mis-matched braking components may work
well enough when they are brand new, but who knows what you end up with
after 10K miles of wear?

FWIW, I put Sys3 on my '91 200TQA for around $1200. The 996 monoblocs came
off of a 996 that had less than 8K miles; the rotors were brand new,
slotted, and cad plated; the pads were a special compound created by Weston
Motorsports. Had a I used stock rotors and pads, I'd have gotten it done for
around a grand.
