My recent experience:
Drive 16.4 miles to work, 13.7 hwy miles, hwy has a toll both. Route 3
between Manchester and Nashua, NH if you were wondering. Normally drive 75
mph to occasionally 80 to pass. Zipped away from the toll booth shifting at
5k and enjoying it. Was usually among the "faster" cars while travelling.
Averaged around 20.3 to 20.9 mpg (US).
This last tankfull shifted at 3k and tried to not go past 65 mph. Took it
easy pulling away from the toll booth. Was generally among the "slowest"
traffic ( gee, yet another semi passing me), and a boring drive.
Mileage..........20.2 mpg! Ok I am going back to my normal driving. :-)
YMMV, of course.
