A few of you have asked how April Fools went, so...
Audi content... I drove my //S6 to LRP Sat. to run the PCA DE in my
bud's GT3.
OK sorry, no I didn't. We met up en-route and he let me take it the
rest of the way and followed me in der //Shitbox. Sweet. (anecdote...
the UrS REALLY DOES look downright awesome in the rearview mirror. Esp.
mit xenons and Euro plate, strikes a very appealing stance. Love it.).
PCA events are downright nauseating. Paddock? Nothing $$$ can't fix.
Depressing. So where's your husband & wife modded GT3 / modded 993tt,
towed by your Cayenne TT??? I always thought 993tt's were 'sorta'
rare(ish), well seems every one they ever freakin made showed up Sat.
Same for 964t's. Our GT3 was one of um, a dozen maybe? Another dozen
RS replicas, neat. Never seen a Ruf in person, so... why not see f'n
oh, TWO??? F me. Carazy stuff. Great people tho, despite rumors I'd
heard they were pretentious. Few asshats but that's to be expected.
Even ran into our very own Brett Dikeman here, was helping his pop
campaign his 951. Dikeman Senior seemed to give the thing hell out
there, good for him. He's a PCA instructor apparently, cool.
While I've clicked decent WOT mileage off in the thing prior,
gollygeewillikers is the GT3 in its element out there (yeah big
surprise). I've said before of all the ubersilly uberstoopid POS's I've
hoar'd my way into, the GT3 was the only one that's humbled me. It's a
twitchy handful, a very live wire. Well not out there. The sheer
baritone honking shrill of clipping the apex at the Downhill and hitting
WOT after getting the point-by from the poor schlep in front of me
defies description. Late braking into Big Bend and letting the tail
take you through just 'happened'. And I've got pretty much zero
looseygoosey time in a rear engined car. Too easy. Once I found my
line the thing commuted its way around the circuit no different than
shuttling grandma back to the Home. Whodathunk?
Roughly 60 laps / 60 minutes of transcendental surreal bliss. Pinch me.
1st 20 minute heat was nice and dry. Sky opened up on me for heat 2.
My luck. Care to LRP someone else's 6-fig supercar in the slippy
rain??? I could have minted coins out of my puckered backside. And I
even managed a pretty amazing multiple pendulum wag in the Left Hander,
which I blew my instructor away with my save. I casually replied (er I
spend a_lot of time in the snow), heh heh. 3rd heat was drying, and
featured a fun chase down of a 997 Carrera S. I had let him by on No
Name only to shove it up them quad pipes so badly he was all out of
sorts way off line the rest of the run. Pit in and see a white GT3 into
the tire wall on the right. Yikes. Better him than me.
My buddy had left early, so, him being my 'other brother' he took the
//Shitbox home him and allowed me to finish out my day. Whattapal. LRP
to downstate on the shore ride was fun, fun to pretend to be King, if
only for a day. That thing really does fit me like a glove. Shame.
Best part was Domo Oregato Mr. Rossato had come to spectate for the day,
and commuted out with me. Got to love it, someone out there that drives
as much a total JUVENILE as me (cats outta da bag Bob). Repeated
passing and point-by's ensued, Bob indulging in the aural sex as he put
it. I told Bob, his Pastore chipped K24 held it's own, really cranks.
And getting out of the ultimate machine back into my POS, really,
really, didn't feel so bad. Even @ nearing 160k, damn UrS impresses in
comparison. Go figure.
Stoopid pics can be found: www.krasusky.photos.us.com, link is @ the
bottom of page. Hope you enjoy. Oh, and D'Amato's bud in the F1 bagged
it due to the rain. Ah well.
