[s-cars] deteriorating clearcoat

I happen to have a good body gut that does work on the side at home.  He 
repainted a bumper on my pearl Coupe and it matched unbelieveably well - 
$150.

To see the real damage the body shop will take a DA to it and see how 
far down you have to go until the defects disappear.

As far as "doing it right", you can have it sanded until all the defects 
are gone and have it repainted at that stage - no harm.  This will also 
last just fine.  Unless you are super anal, I would not have it stripped 
or completely taken down to the primer.

Are you anywhere close to central-PA?  My body guy does a real nice job 
for a great price.
