yes, it was abusive.  I verified the code with my local P-car dealer  for an 
extra Becker radio (Boxster) for free.  I did get an oil change for  $100 - 
but 10 qts of Mobil-1 and a filter and I always take a walk under my car  to 
check out it's lower stuff.

I  had this done about 2 years ago and P&W in Burlington MA charged 
me $75  or so for retrieving the code.

I guess it was an abusive  relationship.

(No offense meant to those suffering in abusive  relationships, 
I've seen it up close and it ain't  pretty.)
