That's good to know. And I don't mean any personal disrespect to Dave -
I've never dealt with him. There was this place in Tacoma - Pete Lovely
VW. Pete raced VWs and was a total VW geek. I bought stuff there, and was
treated well by the parts guys. They liked my Scirocco, and were always
asking if I wanted to step up and race it. I always said, "Yeah, when I
get a sponsor to pay for the parts and mods!" And we'd all laugh. The
sales guys were slithery, and bugged me, though.
He went out of business, of course.
Dave might be a great guy, and a straight shooter in the business of selling
cars - but that doesn't mean that the term "stealership" is not well-earned
by his peers. And, unfortuately, tars him with the same, slimey brush. If
I ever have the desire to buy a new Audi, I'll look up Dave first. At least
somebody has had a good experience with a dealer somewhere.
