Bob-
One consideration is total seat height. You can often reuse the OEM seat
base with some steel adapter brackets and sturdy (read very high-grade)
bolts, but since most of those fixed bucket seats are designed to use side
mounts and thus mounted very low, I think you might end up with a very tall
seat.

If you can use the OEM seat base w/o any height issues, then getting the
power seat base from a 100 or A6 would be a much cheaper proposition than a
S-car base.
