The S-bitch has frequently seen temperatures below -20F with no sticking
rear caliper issue so I don't think the problem you're experiencing is
caused by a design flaw in the urS calipers. Simply, the grease in the hand
brake mechanism is old, probably mixed with a good deal of rust powder, and
a full rebuild of the calipers should solve the problem for several years.
