[s-cars] Confirmed: Braided brake lines don't age well

It cracked open with no previous sign of leaking. Hopefully, it happened
when I was pumping the brakes after replacing the rear pads. It was a rear
hose and it was the first time I was working on the rear axle, so the hose
have not seen anything else that normal use.

BTW, I also had a rubber hose blowing off, this time on the road. It was
just after I bought the car, so it may have been caused by bad treatment
from the PO's mech.

so what happened? did the line start leaking or did it abruptly fail?
what was the cause of the failure? braided steel hoses are far less
tolerant of abuse than rubber hoses. they don't stand up well to
stretching, kinking, or pinching.
