[s-cars] wheel offset and tire width

The stock size was 225/50-16 on 8" or 7.5" width rims depending on which
wheels you had. When you start lowering the aspect ratio, the stiffer
sidewall won't allow the tread to fill out as much on the same width
rim, so it will tend to be narrower.
But the real problem, IMHO, is that you're running 18" rims. If you're
going to stick with 18's, you definitely shouldn't be running 225/45
size tires. You are over an inch taller in overall diameter than stock.
You will be rubbing all over the place on the front tires when turning,
and probably rubbing the rears during heavy suspension loading.
In order to get back to a stock diameter you will need to use 245/35 or
255/35 tires (don't know if they're common sizes or not). Pretty short
sidewalls. I would stay away from any pot holes with those.
