225 are way to narrow for that rim.

Your previous vendor steered you in a bad direction.
I run 255 40 17 and 245 45 17 on my S.
while there is some annoyance rubbing it fills the wheel wells and looks 
right. Not too mention is right.

Reinforcing what has been said before, I would stay away from pot holes with 
those rims.
I have bent 17" rims well enough to know I would have killed 18" rims.

It's pretty easy math, and there are many a web site dedicated to tires 
sizing to get the proper width and sidewall height. Don't rely on so called 
tire professionals to tell you what to buy or you will end up where you 
have.
