Whoever "suggested" this doesn't know much about Audi flywheels and/or transmissions. The flywheel must match the transmission. The '91 200qs use 016 transmissions with the pilot bearing in the crankshaft. The S4/S6s five speeds, as well as the newer six speeds, are 01E transmissions with shorter input shafts using pilot bearings in the flywheel. They are not interchangeable.

If you want a lightweight flywheel, get one of the aluminum flywheels that are available out there.

Trying to line up parts for a clutch replacement/6 speed upgrade.

Its been suggessted that I replace the flywheel with one from a
1991 Audi 200 20v, supposedly it'll save weight providing more power,
and is mucho cheaper than a new Audi dual mass one.

I've asked a couple gentz on this list their thoughts and have
received conflicting input....go figure.

Wondering if anyone has any experience going this route, and what
the general consensus of the list is.

Thanks for your input
Chris
