[s-cars] Is this CGR trans good 6-speed trans to pick up?

I am looking at buying a 6-speed tranny and have been 
offered a used CGR ser# 50487 transmission.

All the information I find points to this being a narrow 
first gear transmission.

The million dollar question is......should the narrow 
first gear bother me if the gear hasn't been damaged?
