[s-cars] Trunk Shock/Strut (Meistersatz or Stabilus-Boge)

Thanks again for the input guys, I guess it wasn't a long shot asking
after all :-) Although I'm convinced to go with the "Stabilus-Boge" they
are backordered for some time :-( what a bummer, but I will wait until
they are re-stocked rather than get the Meistercrap... When they are
back on the shelves I'll let the list know in case anyone else wants a
set.

/J.

James;

I replaced my trunk shocks with aftermarket units I bought from the
dealer.
I can't say which brand they were, but they do not work as well as the
OEM struts. On cold days (-20 or so) they are very stiff and it's hard
to open the trunk. They also have a dead spot at the end of the travel
with significantly reduced damping. They did not look OEM - the ball
joint ends are different than the OEM units.

I figure this might be a long shot in asking... but anyone have
experience with replacing sedan trunk stuts with Meistersatz or
Stabilus-Boge and if so which would you recommend? I want to replace my
trunk struts (shock), and there are two brands available: Meistersatz
and Stabilus-Boge. I think the Stabilus-Boge is OEM, it sure looks it.

Cheers, /Jamu.
