I believe the 45o cutoff is a function of the mask on the projector. This
must be how euro lights are made.
Having lobotomized my DOT's for the ecode + Chinese HID upgrade recently, I
dremel'd the mask on each light 15 degrees so that instead of the light
being cut off evenly half way up, I gained 15o extra light, up and to the
right. This is small but much appreciated when looking for street signs and
animals at night. If I had to do it over, instead of a straight cut 15o, I
would make a few notches ala 'Jaws" for a mean looking light show on the
rear of SUV's at traffic lights.
This is a very worthwhile and no cost mod IME.
