true, i haven't had this system apart since i installed the calipers.
the mustang's brake system has been apart a number of times. i had
to remove a caliper at the track once after it was damaged, and after
that, i set it up with a 3AN hose end and a 3AN-banjo adapter so i
could disconnect the 3AN connection and plug the hose. keeps the
brake fluid from draining out, and i _hate_ lying in a puddle of
brake fluid.

braided steel hoses should be a regular maintenance item, as they are
not immortal. i have bulk hose and replace hoses every few years.

it doesn't really matter whether you do 1/8 NPT or banjo, but i
didn't have any trouble routing the hose with a straight 1/8 NPT fitting
and i think the NPT fitting is probably more reliable than the banjo.
