[s-cars] Switchblade remote activating lock system to sensitive?

Hi Dave,
I am using the OEM security system that was installed in the 1997 S6 cars.
Apparently this is the same system that is used by the '98-'03 A4's and
A6's. All I did was upgrade the remote itself. The '97 S6 came with a
2-button remote that did not have a key attached to it. When I bought the
car, that remote did not come with the car... so I started investigating
where I could get a replacement. That led me to the switchblade remotes
that are common on the A4/A6 line. It worked straight away with no
problems. I was also able to program additional functions to the system as
well with my VAG-COM.
And yes, I am still running the ACNA Canada Chapter and the website too.
Thanks,
Brent.

remote. I read on one of these forums that the 1997 S6 uses the same system
used on 98-03 A4's and A6's. And sure enough it does work fantastic. I
ordered a used one from an online AutoKey store, and the remote works great.
The store provided an excellent write-up on how to activate and setup the
remote for the basic functions and links to other websites to add more
functionality... which all worked great!

little too sensitive. With the switchblade remote in my pocket, with pants
that are fairly baggy and the remote was the only key in the pocket... the
lock gets engaged without being directly bumped or hit! This happened a
number of times the other day. Normally this is not an issue as you park
your car at your destination and you lock it and go on to where-ever you
were going. However, the scenario of working in the garage with the car
unlocked, it seems to engage, way too easily.

switchblade remotes before? The AutoKey store is more then willing to
exchange the remote for another one. But I don't want to go through a
mail-in / mail-back exchange and find out the new one is exactly the same!
