Subject: [s-cars] Fuel filter change?

(Sorry to bring up such an elementary topic but...) My car runs rough
when I attempt hard acceleration and I think the fuel filter may be
guilty. It certainly looks ancient anyway. I just bought a replacement
fuel filter and am about to do the swap. It looks very straightforward
but since I am greenhorn wrench-turner I thought I'd ask if there was
anything counter-intuitive about the process or other stumbling blocks.
I did find a techarticle for changing fuel filters on A4s over at
Audiworld with pics, that said the job should be done with the engine
cold. (http://www.audiworld.com/tech/eng49.shtml)

Anyone have any other tips before I do the job?

  Thanks

Three words for ya Alex:

_NEW_CRUSH_WASHERS_

Wish someone had chimed in with them for ME when I did mine last year
heh heh. Hello fuel spray. Course everyone just assumes you'd know
that, as you'd be ***pretty dumb*** not to. Well, yeah - I'm that dumb.
Then to do the same on my PS pump to rack hose last week. $20 of
Pentosin later (x2 now), and oh whoops $0.79 for a crush washer, I've
learned. Again. Dumbass.

Aside from that it's a joke, no worries about relieving pressure etc.
Just uncrack the lines under a rag swap in the filter wipe up the
dribble and be done.

Say them again with me Alex... new crush washers.

-Paul get to drive lotsa ridiculously absurd carz but F-up the easiest
things on me own onez K.
