[s-cars] damaged tire

You should be OK if you put two on the same axle. That might make
more economic
sense that wasting half a tire (and paying to shave it). The specs
are 11/32 new and
2/32 minimum so you are at 1/2 life.

I run P-Zero on the avant but in 225/50-16 and have just replaced two
rears with 7/32
on the fronts. I have a half-life tire available but wrong size.

There are 5 P-Zeros on s-cars.org classified in 225/45-17 IIRC. You
might be able to
buy one still leaving a set of four for sale if the diameter is
acceptable. Just remember,
they are directional.

Not sure how to run a spare in directional tires- backwards if
necessary, I guess. Or,
how to rotate 5 for even wear if 3 are one direction and 2 for the
other side.

Tom
The local tire dealer now uses nitrogen for tire pressure promising
great results. Aircraft
use it to control expansion on those 0-150 mph runs on cold tires
then taking them to -60 C.
