Agreeing with LL, just change over to synthetic and use a quality filter. My
cars previous owner (2nd owner) used dino and I switched to synthetic at
112,000 miles. No experience with the high tech filters.
I went with Mobil 1, just because it is available everywhere if I ever need
a quart to "top off". Been using the SUV oil lately, 5w-40. :
You are in NH, right? Robbins Auto carries the "VW oil" as the guy behind
the counter calls it, Penotsin synth 5W-40.

Subject: On the use of Synthetic oils.. And high end filters.
Hi Harold and Taka.
This thread Synthetic oil flush and high end filters
1:
I bought a low mile S6 recently. Bone stock and it has 58K miles on it.
This new S6 is so freaking clean I want to take great care of the
engine, more so than my S4 where I used Castrol regular oil.
Previous records show the original owner did not use synthetic oil, yes
the oil changes were periodic using dino oil.
Anyway, I read the articles among you guys and Nate Belo back in October
05 on synthetic oils.
It's time for an oil change soon and I want to switch to synthetic oil
in the S6.
Is there a recommended process for the conversion? Reading Nate's
replies he wrote.
... 60k, so I have to run "Engine Flush" in the Jetta before

Also: What's the S list wisdom on the use of high end oil filters such
as those found at
www.gopurepower.com
Or
www.cmfilters.com
Thanks
Jeff
