[s-cars] Toyo Tires - T1-R or T1-S

Considering that a Porsche 993/996/997 can do a pair of 295s in 5k miles and
a NSX can kill A022s
in about that time, all of these being much lighter cars by several hundred
pounds, it's not that surprising.

You're buying a gumball tire- are you that surprised that the tire longevity
is poor? Tire longevity and grip
are not complementary factors in tire design.

How do you know that RA-1s would last longer- have you run them on the
street in the same conditions?

If you want more longevity, I'd recommend something more street-oriented,
like the Goodyear F1-GSD3 or
Continental Sport Contact 2.

7-10k is all I'd expect out of a set of RE-070s on my car, the RT-615s are a
similar type of tire. A friend of
mine got 7k out of a set of Bridgestone RE-011s, which are an OE summer tire
on a sport sedan, not
designed as a gumball tire, but he drives hard. Another guy I know got about
8k out of a set of
SP8000E on his A4 1.8T.
