[s-cars] Orange coolant

And there is now a purple coolant in the VAG lineup, which is called G12Plus. I'm thinking it might be something that is formulated to be compatible with the old G11 blue stuff, but I haven't tried it and that is just my speculation so don't go mixing the two on my say so. It may just be something better/different than the G12 and is still non-compatible with the original G11 (or Prestone, if that's what's there) coolant. When in doubt, read the directions.

I switched over to G12 (red/pink) when I did the timing belt a couple of years ago. It's a good opportunity since you have to dump most of the system anyway. Before putting the front end back on I filled the system with water only and a gutted thermostat. Ran it for a few minutes then drained. Repeated a couple of times until I was confident that any remnants of the old coolant was diluted enough. Then installed a thermostat and filled with pure coolant (only about 1/2 the coolant capacity drains out when you drain the radiator) and run engine to mix the coolant.
