[s-cars] Hot temp. shut down....

Dave and All,

I found the knock sensor looking new and the connection clean
I removed the MM hose and cleaned and inspected it, found it also looked good.

Although just at the end of the turbo there's another round item that bolts to the down pipe(?) with the o2 sensor. It seems that the gasket may be blown. White discoloration/corrosion around the whole junction of the two pieces.

I also found a radiator hose clamp broken, seems odd, one side clean, the other of the break bent on the edges, almost like they weren't connected.

Is there a schematic. or drawings of engine componants on line?

  Paul,
guess I'm looking for a manual.

2142 = Knock sensor G61 - loose or connector corroded. OR J220 (the ECU
malfunctioning). Check your connections and re-move, clean and
retighten knock sensor (under intake manifold on the block). Torque 20
Nm (11 to 18 ft-lb (say 15)).

2341 = Oxygen Sensor control = fuel tank low (less than 10 L or 2.5
gal) resulting in fuel pressure less than 3.3 bar (48 psi) OR engine
intake air leak AFTER the Mass Air Flow Sensor (a boost leak) OR a leak
in the exhaust system in front of the cat OR O2 sensor failure.

My guess is a boost leak leading to massive engine shaking, leading to
these two codes. Pressure test your intake hoses, etc. downstream from
the turbo. Plug the cam cover breather, the ISV and block off the
Throttle body hose and pressure test to 20 to 25 psi. Look for the leak
at the MM hose. Or just remove the belly pan and remove and inspect the
MM hose. It likely has cracks in the valleys (due to oil accumulation).

Thanks Dave and to everyone who has responded,

The assistance is greatly appreciated.

I have blinked out 2 codes.

1st. 2142
2nd. 2341

Is there a list of the codes?

And of course the car runs like a champ.

Thanks Again
Paul

Paul: You may have one or two problems: either a "Michelin Man" hose
that is split but only opens under boost OR your Cam Position Sensor
(Hall
Sender) is on its way out. You need to check the ECU fault codes and
report back. One blink code procedure you can (should) use is at Scott

Mockry's website:
